Eastsound Water announces boil water NOTICE for all customers in the Doe Bay Water Users Association Service Area


Doe Bay, WA – Eastsound Water is advising all water customers in the Doe Bay Water Users Association Service Area to boil their drinking water due to a main break that happened earlier this afternoon. The Washington State Department of Health (DOH) has been notified and Eastsound Water is working closely with the Office of Drinking Water to fix the problem. The boil water advisory will remain in effect until further notice.

 “We are doing all we can to fix the break and eliminate any potential contamination. We will have all residences back in water by this evening. Safe and reliable drinking water is critical to good health and responding to this kind of emergency is our highest priority,” said Dan Burke, General Manager of Eastsound Water.

The boil water advisory includes several precautionary steps for customers. These include using purchased bottled water or boiled water for drinking, brushing teeth, dishwashing, preparing food, and making ice. Water should come to a rolling boil for one minute, then cool to an appropriate temperature before using.

Your water is safe. When satisfactory results are reported, customers will be notified that the advisory has been lifted.
